George the Giant set the world record for the total weight of concrete blocks broken while resting on his chest while laying on a bed of nails.
40 blocks at an average weight of 34.5 pounds each make 1380 pounds total concrete. Then there’s the 30-ish pound platform and of course George’s own weight all resting on the bed of nails.
And that’s before you start swinging sledge hammers to break the blocks.
Oh, and did I mention that they set the blocks on fire?
“Ouch” seemed like the word of the day.
All this took place as the half-time entertainment during an Arena Football match on the home turf of the Bakersfield Blitz. Check out the Flickr set.
