Very cute. Fox squirrels do this a lot to cool off on a hot day, laying on branches and they esp love shaded landscaping stone/brick. As each stone warms up they drag themselves to the next one, it’s hilarious. Squirrels are hilarious.
I think its dead……theres dark matter around the mouth that kinda looks like blood.

Squirrels are greedy little crooks. You should see them vacuuming the nuts and seeds out of my bird feeder in the winter. Mind you, I don’t do anything to stop them, I guess they have a living to make too…

Dead squirrel! Clearly these are put out of order. That type of bird-feeder has a spike in the middle to hold fruit or stuff… The squirrel fell, got impaled, moved his head a little before he died. No mystery.

Then again, squirrels are very strange and it could very well be chillin.
The squirrel is NOT dead. You can see clearly in its eyes and pupils it’s very much alive. A dead squirrels eyes look all white dark and cold.
