When Jesus Went from Zero to $10,000

Jesus proved that you can enjoy poker for free and actually even win real money. Chris “Jesus” Ferguson from X, Y, is a much respected poker professional, as well as a math PhD and fervent square dancer.
He set up a challenging goal for himself: He was to build a poker bankroll from zero dollars to $10,000.

Without any starting money he had to start playing in poker freerolls, that is, poker tournaments that are free of charge but where you may win a dollar or two if you play well.
Once he had a few dollars, he could join the lowest cash games on the internet, with blinds of 1c/2c, and build from there. If he lost, he had to go back to the freerolls.

After six months play, Jesus had secured a bankroll that he saw as stable. He had $6.50 in the account. After another nine months of careful poker, Jesus reached his seemingly unrealistic goal and went away with $10,000.
To all young kids out there with their parents’ credit cards within reach. Poker doesn’t have to cost a fortune.
Not if you follow Jesus.
